The Old Battered Shield

On the side of the wall hangs an old battered shield
The emblem of suffering and pain.
And I know that 'ere long, I must carry that shield
Unto the fierce battle again.

So I'll carry the old battered shield
Where the swords and the axes do swing;
And I'll cling to the old battered shield
'Til I die, or until I am King.
